Carlos Carnero elegido miembro del Comité Director del Movimiento Europeo
En la reunión del Consejo Federal Europeo en Londres, fui elegido miembro de su Comité Director, una posición que me llena de orgullo y en la que espero poder contribuir a mejorar el conocimiento sobre la UE, su funcionamiento y sus instituciones.

London: Pat Cox elected as the new president of the European Movement International
At the occasion of the Federal Council in London, 120 delegates representing the members of the European Movement International (EMI) elected Pat Cox, former president of the European Parliament, as their new president, taking over the chairmanship of the organisation from José Maria Gil-Robles, also former president of the European Parliament.
In his election statement Mr Cox showed great determination in building on the historical heritage of the EMI and transforming it into a campaigning movement in favour of Europe around 4 basic key-words: clarity, courage, campaign and capacity-building.
Henrik H. Kroner was re-elected for another mandate as the Secretary General.
Among others, the newly elected Steering Committee is composed of: FiladelfioBasil (Member of the Italian Senate), Carlos Carnero Gonzalez (MEP), Andrew Duff (MEP), Luis de Grandes Pascual (MEP), Baron Georges Jacobs (former president of UNICE), Catherine Lalumière (former Vice-President of the European Parliament), Jo Leinen (MEP), John Monks (Secretary General of ETUC), Pierre Moscovici (MEP, President of the EM France), Giorgio Napolitano (former Italian Minister, former MEP), Charles-Ferdinand (former Belgian foreign Minister, President of EM Belgium), Edvard Outrata (Member of the Czech Senate, President of EM Czech Republic), Beatrice Rangoni Machiavelli (former President of the European Economic and Social Committee).

Londres : Pat Cox élu nouveau Président du Mouvement Européen International
Lors du Conseil fédéral du Mouvement Européen International (MEI) à Londres, près de 120 délégués ont élu Pat Cox, ancien Président du Parlement européen, à la présidence du Mouvement Européen International. Il succède à José Maria Gil-Robles, également ancien Président du Parlement européen.
Lors de sa présentation, M. Cox a exprimé sa détermination à se baser sur l’héritage du MEI et de le transformer en un mouvement de campagne en faveur de l’Europe et ce, autour de quatre mots clés: clarté, courage, campagne et renforcement des capacités.
Henrik H. Kroner a été réélu pour un nouveau mandat comme Secrétaire général.
